Winterising your Pool

With all outdoor pools, the winter can be very harsh on the structure and its finishes. Not only should you add winterising chemicals to the pool water to prevent algae growth and to maintain correct water balance ready for ease of opening in the Spring; you should drain down plant and pipework to avoid frost damage and also check for loose tiles and coping stones.

Loose tiles or coping stones are perfect areas for rainfall to puddle, and freeze up during very cold weather. As water expands when frozen, this can cause finishes to pop, break and lift further causing more damage to the pool finishes.

If you are unsure on your winter close down procedure or have any queries, please contact us and we would be happy to advise or demonstrate the best winter procedure for your pool setup.
